Fundraisers

Fund-raisers? Alright!

As the cost of going to camp goes up each year, that doesn't mean you suddenly have more money to send your teens off to camp; that is why we have fundraisers throughout the year to help fully fund your teen's way to camp.

We have prepared a fundraising rule list to give a solid guideline as to how fundraisers will be conducted. Please see Below:

Who Can Participate

Any student in the 6th through 12th grade, adult working for a student (if the student cannot work), youth worker, sponsor, or junior sponsor can participate in the fund raisers.

Allocation of Funds

Any money made from fund raisers will be applied to student’s camp fees, $5 lunch, and Sonic run while at camp. If after all monies have been allocated and the student has a surplus, that money will be applied to the person of choice for the student, according to the youth pastor's discretion. If the student does not have any particular person to apply the surplus to then the money will revert to the manager of funds to apply to a needy camper.

If a student has participated in fund raisers throughout the year and then decides to not attend camp they will be given the option of donating their funds to another camper or allowing it to go back into the general fund to be allocated to another needy camper.

How Allocations are Figured

Whenever funds have been collected for a fund raiser the money that was used to “pay” for the fundraiser (i.e. food purchased, supplies purchased, advertisements, etc.) will be deducted from the funds first, then all profits will be divided equally amongst all participants. The odd cents that cannot be applied will be put into the youth fund for future events, thereby making it fair to all participants.

This is true of all fund raisers except for the garage sale and cake auction. In the case of the garage sale – each participant will get a share for each shift they work (i.e. if they work 5 shifts, they get 5 shares). In the case of the cake auction – each participant will receive a share after $1,000 is taken out to pay for the buses.
